Put Your Own Kisser On A Magazine Cover--Fast, Free, Fun and Potentially Profitable!
You no longer need to be a big shot or ditzy socialite to get your own kisser on the cover of a famous magazine. Thanks to a free online tool named Mag My Pic, you can turn a plain old picture of yourself into a cover shot from any one of 18 magazines, including Life, Sports Illustrated, Seventeen or even National Geographic. These free magazine cover shots can be a fun way to decorate your social networking sites like FaceBook, MySpace and other Web 2.0 networks. But there’s more than just fun to be had in plastering your picture all over the internet. It’s smart marketing, too. People retain a better memory of anything they read when they can connect it to a human face. And any ad, whether it’s in a newspaper or magazine, on TV or on the internet, will do a better job of converting lookers into buyers if they can connect with a human face. That's why it’s a good idea to put your own picture on everything you make. And while traditional publicity photos are just pleasant head shots, there’s no rule that says you can’t have fun with your face. Injecting a little levity into your marketing can soften up even a hard-sell approach and help visitors view you in a friendlier fashion. It took me only a few seconds with their free tools to easily transform myself into a celebrity on the cover of Life magazine. Because Mag My Pic doesn't have any editing tools, I first used Photoshop to turn my color photo into a black and white image. I then used a soft focus filter to wipe away 20 years, just they way they used to on REAL Life Magazine cover shots! If you want to clean yourself up before appearing on a cover but don’t have a photo editor like Photoshop, fear not. There are all sorts of free online photo editors that will let you crop, color, take out red eye and even use effects filters. FotoFlexer is one that’s very easy to use and, like Mag My Photo, its services are free. All you do is upload your photo to FotoFlexer, then download and save the edited image to your hard drive. Then visit Mag My Pic, upload the edited image, transform it into a magazine cover and download it to your own computer. Mag My Photo also has the option of generating a bit of code that—once pasted into your MySpace or Facebook page—makes your cover shot instantly appear.
